happily announcing that watchtower comments is back up on youtube with all study articles restored.. to answer the knocking producers, i removed the introduction, including all 3 seconds of prirated knocking video and replaced it with a lovely animation.

Void he never was baptized and never bought in to the org. I can see where he is coming from as I have almost the same sentiment. I don't harbor any grudges towards the WTS really. I do think they are goofy about certain things, but over all I think they are a religion and not as bad as say Southern Baptist...yet in the south Southern Baptist aren't looked at as strange. Therefore I think his documentary does do some positive stuff even if it does leave out criticisms. I can see where he is coming from. If you didn't invest you didn't really loose anything, so why would be so negative?

Or was he baptized?

JWs' children, in a covenant relationship to Jah like the Jews ?

last sunday, after the meeting, i had an interesting conversation with an elder, who asked me, among other things, how my 2 teen children are faring, because he noticed that they don't attend meetings anymore.

i replied that they are fine and, as far as meetings are concerned, they are of age to choose their own ways.

i said that their being jws' children doesn' t put them, before jehovah, in a special position.

As I mentioned in my topic, they kind of double speak on this. They tell parents to keep kids in line with the org, but then the kids are able to make their own decision so long as the decision is to be a JW. Usually they choose not to be which puts undue stress on parents.

Daniel that is why I said "I" don't find it worse then 90% worse then other religions. I do agree with Leolaia about the Fair Use thing though.

Why is everyone so quick to assume that this guy is so pro JW? While I agree knocking should have had a more even hand for critics, it's purpose was to inform the public about who the JW's are. I don't find JW's crazier then almost 90% of organized religion, yet the JW's are often more looked down on then most religions. Knocking was only meant to inform people that they are like most religions. I personally think that it was a good thing to do, even if I don't agree with what JW's believe.

That being said a interview with USA Today is completely different than an interview with an Ex-JW community. This is comparing Apples to Bananas! Our questions are probably a lot more in depth and thoughtful. Perhaps he is jaded by how inadvertently hostile many of in the community can come off. Can I blame him? I have had a few convo's with ex dubs on this board who almost loathe it because everyone is so quick to attack the WTS or anyone who might agree with certain aspects of the org. I would also like to point out that I believe him when he says he has sent orders to JW's also. DT said that YouTube never pulled the videos, so those people might have just not pulled the videos.

It's always the parents fault

i am sure this topic has been covered but i was thinking about it today.

how parents have it about the worse in the org.

for any of us that have publicly left or spoken out against the wts with our parents the reaction is almost always the same, "i have failed as a parent".

Yea luckily I had one long talk with my Mom where I convinced her that I felt she was a wonderful parent and that I knew she did everything she did out of love. One argument I use with my Mom about me never coming back to the org is asking her if after figuring out for her self that her old religion was wrong if she could ever go back. She said no so I asked how could I possibly do the same?

The Clicks

anyone want to share their expierences on the clicks that would form in your meetings.

usually in my meeting they were started by the children of the so called elders.

freaking hipocrits, and spreading rumors and judging people all the time.

Yea you mean Clique....we had three distinct ones. The Elder's kids, the bad ones (this was the one I was in) and the poor kids.

I am sure this topic has been covered but I was thinking about it today. How parents have it about the worse in the org. For any of us that have publicly left or spoken out against the WTS with our parents the reaction is almost always the same, "I have failed as a parent". It's amazing that the JW society gets away with speaking out of both sides of their mouth. We have free will, but if your children get to the point of free will and leave it is you the parents that are to blame. I know it's only natural for a parent to want whats best for their child and blame themselves if the child doesn't do what they feel is best. But it seems to happen more in the org because of the emphasis on parents forcing their kids to do certain activities. Hopefully this will change as more and more kids seem to be leaving or so hot/cold with the org.

listened to a nice sermon last sunday.

had many nice parts to it to think about but one point had me enthralled.. and occasionally, somebody skips the service.

I think they get out of it by changing the context. They say it is in there as a warning that we should not doubt. It doesn't matter how Thomas was treated.
